Day 25 – Tuesday March 10

Posted in Sonett III by Administrator on the March 10th, 2009

Day of rest and cleanup here. The front seals didn’t come in today so we will clean up and get ready for those later in the week.

We also need to find the value to torque the rotors. We started with 25 ft-lbs but need the right number

I believe that the torque value that you want on the castellated nut on your rotors is 130 ft lbs. Check out item #14, page 104 of the Haynes manual. (My Haynes manual is Saab 95/96 V4 copyright 1975.) Interestingly, I took my front left rotor apart yesterday. That’s how I found your blog. I’ve had my ’74 Sonett since 1985. I’ve enjoyed your posts. Best of luck with your project! – Randy

We actually have the same Haynes manuel you do. The bolts we were talking about are te ones that hold the wheel hub to the rotor. We torqued them down pretty tight, lets hope it’s tight enough and doesn’t let us lose a rim on the road and total the car haha. Good Luck on your project too! -Adam
